Lobby Day in Albany

On March 2nd, 2010, 12 staff members and students attended a Lobby Day in Albany. Our team participated in a rally for Immigrant Rights, including adult education, affordable housing and healthcare. In the afternoon, we met with staff from the offices of 4 State Senators and Assemblymen. Our students told stories of how their lives have been positively affected by the opportunity to study in free English as a Second Language classes offered by the Chinese-American Planning Council. It was a great lesson in civic participation for all of them.
